It pains me terribly that this display is disqualified due to the use of invasive/non native plants. I absolutely sympathise with the creator of this wonderful, natural, beautiful, and in my opinion, first place display, that if the exotic species are present in the habitat, they should be represented in the biotope display. In truth, this is the most faithful portrayal. Sadly, the competition rules explicitly state that displays using exotic, invasvie species of plants or fishes which are non-native to the habitats being portrayed must be disqualified. It is with a heavy heart therefore that I must discount this display, but I hope that my comments can be conveyed to the creator as the work is otherwise fantastic and my favourite display of the biotope competition.
