This is an effective little dispaly which showcases a naturalistic representation of the habitat. It has done so through the use of careful detail, a sense of restraint where the creator has use minimal materials to good effect and the development ofa. suitable long-term home for its inhabitants. I particularly apprecaite the detritus left on the stones, which feels very natural and the use of a single plant species within a small area also feels authentic. The fish choice, characterful, colourful and under appreciated in the hobby is comendable. Moreso is that the animals appear at ease in the display, foraging and over the naturalistic stream bed and seeming confident in their surrounds. To achieve this with such readily available, simple materials, is comendable. My only two points regard the lighting and background. The lighting feels somewhat cool (considering this is a lowland tropical habitat) and perhaps a background of some kind might have enhanced the display a little further. However, this is still a fantastic piece of work and I very much appreciate the creator’s awareness of the perils this little fish faces in the wild (due to human activity) and their subsequent dedication of the entry to the lovely Badis badis.
